Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply put... WOW!!!!! I just received my Razor HD Gen II 3-18x50 scope, and mounted it on my Ruger Precision Rifle. Took it out to the range where I work, and set to zeroing it. It didn't take long, although I was interrupted by a couple of customers who needed some help zeroing their rifles. However, before my final 5 click "up" adjustment, I managed to put three trounds through the same hole at 1oo yds (see the attached pic)... something I've never done before! I love this scope! The optical clarity, color accuracy, and light-gathering capabilities of this optic are second to none! Looking forward top testing it out to 1000 yds and beyond!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Optic 2 for 2 This scope tracks, hold zero, returns to zero and actually goes parallax free like it's supposed too. It easily compares to other scopes I've personally paid twice the money for. I am so proud to have this Optic mounted on a 7mm rifle that others will be able to hunt with. I'll never have to worry about them not being able to see in low light or mess up a shot because they couldn't tell. I can even go out at night in decent illumination and smack a few hog if need be with just the scope. Small game opens up here pretty soon. I'll be posting some of those night time Optic only hog kills.......

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome reticle but a very heavy scope. It makes me sad when people outside of the US can't enter the contest. I use Vortex optics as well and love it. My favorite is my Razor HD 3-18x50. I love the illuminated reticle and the light transmission. The scope is way to heavy for a stalking rifle. I have a Razor hd 3-18x50, HST 4-16x44, Strike Eagle, Razor HD 16-48x65 spotting scope, Razor HD 12x50 binocular. It is all awesome products. I hope you will come up with a 6x zoom starting from low zoom factors like 1,5 - 2 - 2,5 or 3 with illuminated reticle and a big ocular in size 50-56.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock solid optic This is my fifth Gen 2 Razor to own and as you can see I am an addict! I am extremely hard on my equipment and the Razors just keep performing under very difficult conditions. They are packed with features that the competitive shooter needs such as infinite zero adjustments, locking turrets and with the ebr-2c which is a great reticle for holdovers. I love my Gen 2 Razors and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great optics at a terrific price point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best scope I have had. Would have given the scope 5 stars. It just weighs too much. Super clear glass! You could shoot a flea off the dogs butt at 500 yards. Except I sneezed, the dog hasn't been the same sense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Competes favorably with the best in it's class. I knew I had to have a special scope for this rifle. The rifle is an M14, in a James Allen Chassis, I could go on and on about the rifle specs as I wanted the best of everything but this review is supposed to be about the scope. For those of you who may not be aware the M14 is a known scope killer. As a Service Rifle Rifle shooter I think in MOA so I needed a MOA/MOA scope and one to stand up to abuse, the platform can dish out to an optic. For the type of shooting I engage in, extreme magnification is neither required or desired. I never will understand the fascination folks have with ultra high magnification rifle scopes. After much research I focused in on the Razor 3-18x50 HD Gen II scope. This scoped appeared to have everything I needed in a scope. I spent hours pouring over every review I could find on this scope. Aside from a few complaints about it's massive size & weight, there were mostly good comments. The Vortex no fault warranty sealed the deal, providing that extra bit of assurance that should my rifle prove to much for the scope it would be covered. While shooting prone with a bipod, I am able to clearly follow my bullet trace as it travels to it's target. I can tell you from experience very few scopes have the optical "chops" to accomplish that feat. That alone puts the HD Razor in an elite class. After owning this scope for around 2 years I have found, the scope is robust and controls are well laid out. The reticle is useful without being too busy, maybe just a bit thin towards the 3x scale. Overall I'd say it was a good value for the price paid and it's still in taking the abuse of the M14 platform.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very impressed so far I wont lie I have owned a few vortex products so far. I was very disapointed with the Viper pst line and the hst. I'm not extremely crazy about the Sparc 2 either however the optic I picked up today has so far made me reconsider how I have viewed vortex in the past. I was just browsing today when I laid hands on the Razor line. I ended up leaving with a Razor2. It just felt right. The extra weight everyone talks about is actually a good thing. It feels like you could use it as a hammer. I have owned several high end riflescopes in the past such as the Nightforce Beast, NF ATACR [2], Leupold mk6, the pst and a NF SHV and none have felt quite this good. The controls are very efficient. I prefer the illumation dial on the razor2 over NF. I also like the turret locks better than on the beast. Everything is in the perfect place. When I first picked up the optic I was comparing it to a Sig Tango 6. I grabbed the t6 first shying away from Vortex and wasn't too impressed with the turrets and the glass wasn't anything special. I then picked up the Razor and noticed the weight. Looking at a sign 250 yards out I was impressed with the glass from the get go. Now I know Nightforce has some pretty good glass so I'm assuming the prescription and the coatings play to vortex's advantage because I instantly thought the glass was better than the beast. I haven't compared them side by side yet but it seems pretty clear cut with the level of definition from the Razor. I really like the revolution indicator. The Ebr2c is clean and readable but not in the way at 3x. After spending some time behind the tremor 3 I didn't think I'd be fond of many other horus reticles without all of the bells and whistles. This reticle is pretty perfect for my use on an ar10. The 1/10th mil adjustments are positive and tactile but not obnoxiously loud. If this tracks well I may sell the beast and purchase the 4.5-27x56 variant. My hat is off to you vortex! Sexy optic indeed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Clarity and function I've had my Razor HD Gen ii on my Howa for a little over a year now. The scope is amazing! What got me at purchase was the exteme clarity of the glass. The shop where I bought it took me outside and let me play around with it. When I asked how far a motel sign was, we got out a range finder and found out it was nearly 700 yds away. On 18x power I had no problem reading the sign, seeing cars and people down the street, etc. now, what made me a life long Vortex customer is the amazing quality, durability, and the functionality of the scope. This scope had been dragged around in exteme heat and extreme cold, and it always functions great. It has rode with me in the truck weeks at a time and never has a problem keeping it's zero, unlike a few other pricey scopes I've owned in the past. Lastly, I love the turrets and the easy adjustments I can make with the scope, anywhere, anytime with just one tool. I love my scope and plan on buying a PST this fall for my AR. Vortex has made me a customer for life! Their product is unmatched at the price point and their customer service/staff are easy to talk to for troubleshooting or questions!

Looking to purchase a Viper PST Gen II, 3-15 x 44 EBR 2C or the Razor HD Gen II, 3-18 x 50. One of these scopes will be mounted on a Weatherby .300 Mag Mark V Deluxe I'm going to purchase also, What mounts will I need for either one?

Asked by: Jevman
I recommend a 1 piece picatinny rail for both setups and a set of our Precision Matched Rings. The Viper PST Gen II would use the 30 mm 0.87" height, while the Razor HD Gen II would use the 34 mm 1.0" height.
