The daylight bright red dot is easy to see and paints targets regardless of lighting conditions or background.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pic So far Vortex products and service has been exemplary. After selling, mounting, and using Vortex products, and customer service I can not praise enough. As long as this company continues it's pricing, and customer service they will continue to take over the market. The Venom red dot was installed on my CORE in three minutes, and adjusted to coexist with my iron sights, in three minutes. The concept of a red dot is pretty simple, so not sure why competitors charge three times more for the same thing. I will run this sight through it's paces and hope it stands the test of time. If it doesn't I'm confident Vortex will repair or replace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Venom Red dot on a Browning Buckmark. I purchased the venom with intentions of putting it on my Buckmark. I purchased another brands red dot, this is about the time I found out I had an astigmatism. It is slight but enough to star burst certain red dots. I found the venom to be clear and the dot is easy on my eye. I use the buckmark to shoot paper and plink. It is a lot of fun! I easily shoot 500+ rounds through it when I take it out and have never had any problems with it. With the great warrenty I do not mind letting friends and youngsters shoot it. I have gotten many compliments on how easy it is to aim and shoot. Looking forward to trying other vortex products on calibres.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bite by a Snake Most people are using this on a handgun. But I loved the low profile and bright dot I decided I'd put it on my AK. And Boy was I right. The 3 MOA Dot allows for precise distance shots but is not overly cumbersome or in your face like other red dots. I have another Venom 6moa on my M&P ProCore and its flawless for a handgun. But this thing on an AK is like slapping a laser to your rifle without the distant dot. It comes with a nice ruber cover to protect the lens and mount stands. Mounted quickly, zeroed quickly, and most important it kept it's zero through hundreds of rounds. You simply will not find a better red dot in this size better. This puts the RMR to shame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect on Glock MOS I mounted the Venom Red Dot on my Glock 19 MOS. I called Vortex customer service to ask if the duo would work together and my mind was immediately put at ease after she provided instructions over the phone and informed me that I'd need different mounting screws than the ones provided from Glock. Easy enough, where do I buy them ? "No need, I'll mail them to you at no cost" SOLD!!! I'm sold on outstanding customer support and now that I've had a chance to use it I'm completely sold on Vortex! Outstanding company and I will have a new Vortex scope on my rifle before opening day! Thank you!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gold Standard I purchased the Vortex Venom 3 moa red dot for my Ruger 1022 rifle. Why did I wait so long?!? The sight is amazing and I have really enjoyed using it. There are some naysayers out there on the web regarding red dot sights, but don't believe them. Some people don't like change. I am 57 years old and this is technology I love. I am using it for plinking, targets and squirrel hunting and it has been great. It is very quick and easy to get the hang of it...red dot on the target, pull the trigger, hit the target or squirrel. Also, I had a minor problem installing and stripped the mount. Called Vortex and had a new mount shipped out in just a couple of days, no questions asked...no cost. Best service ever...thanks Jen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Addition to a Competition Pistol I have this sight mounted on a S&W M&P 40 Ported Performance Center C.O.R.E pistol with 4.25" barrel. The sight is lightweight and the red dot is quite bright and easy to bring on target. All adjustment screws are flush mount with no snag points and the battery compartment is on top allowing for a quick battery change without removing the unit. Customer service is friendly and of course you can't beat the warranty! A common mistake many people have, including myself, is to bring the pistol up and search for the red dot. Instead build your muscle memory coming up on your iron sights without the red dot on. Now with the red dot on, it should naturally come into view without hunting for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very compact and light red dot. I built a lightweight AR15 for when I bring new shooters to the range with me. I wanted an optic that would keep the weight down. After looking through Vortex's line-up I found the Venom. It is very small, compact and best of all for light. The rifle with red dot weighs in right around 5 lbs unloaded. I would be careful when tightening the screws to the picatinny mount. I accidentally over-tightened mine and stripped the threads on the aluminum mount. However Vortex's customer service was top notch and got me a replacement mount right away. I am going with Vortex for all of my optics. Due to it's low profile without a riser my brother is considering one for his RPK.

I am looking at mounting this on a 300 blk out pistol it will mount on the picatinny rail and will also co witness with backup sights

Want to use this as my off cant option on a Sig SSG 3000 Rifle with a Spuhr mounting option. I mainly need it for quick reaction close in shots. Which would be best the 3moa or the 6moa as my intended range will be less than 75 meters.

    Asked by: Darren
The larger 6 MOA dot would be easier to pick up on close targets, but both options would work well.

I'll be placing this sight on a Browning Buck Mark with a 7.25" barrel, with a full-length rail. Where is the optimum location for the red dot? In the back, front, or somewhere in between?

    Asked by: nielsonbj
You can place your red dot at any point on the rail, I would keep it toward the rear of the pistol over the grip.

If I purchase a Venom, what kind of attachment base do I need for a Ruger Mark IV?

    Asked by: Vived 45
You can use a rail from Ruger or a mount that replaces the rear sight from www.egwguns.com.

There appears to be rear sight markings on the rear of the Venom. Will those align with a front sight?

    Asked by: Chris M
The rear markings on the Venom are there to help find the dot as you can center them in the optic, they are not designed to be used with a front sight.

What is the best way to mount the venom 3 MOA to a 3.5 inch 12 G Browning Gold Hunter? Is a saddle mount the only way to go? i can't seem to find one for a 3.5 inch Thank you

I recommend this rail: https://www.opticsplanet.com/b-square-shotgun-universal-cantilever-mounts-includes-1-rings-ribs-up-to-3-8-blue-161.html, and you will wnat to give us a call to swap your Venom mount with our Viper mount to fit on the weaver style rail 1-800-426-0048 ext 6.

Will the venom work on a precut rmr slide? Basically is the footprint the same? Thank ahead of time

    Asked by: Anthony
The RMR and Venom have a different footprint that does not allow you to use the Venom on a RMR slide.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed without touching it So I used to buy solely vortex....than they all started breaking within a year of ownership. This dot being no exception. It was on a suppressed 300 aac and was my go to until I took it out of the safe one day and it wouldn't turn on. Turned out it broke and wasn't a battery issue or anything. The warranty program they have while great...has me more and more concerned that its cheaper to send a new unit than make a quality product. This is also the 4th Vortex Optic that i've had thats failed. Sorry Vortex but maybe make better products. They should not be breaking at the rate they are.
