Rated 4 out of 5 by from good value I bought it last summer as an upgrade from my previous spotting scope. Didn't have money to buy a top of the line model, so tried to find one to get the best bang for my buck. The warranty was definitely a large selling point. One draw back is when getting into the top 1/3 or so of magnification range. It gets blurry and am unable to fine tune it to see clearly. I can tell if its a "big" buck/bull but am unable to accurately field score it unless it is close enough to use the lower magnification levels. I love the angled eye piece, so happy I went that route and also the larger objective for early mornings and late evenings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality! Worth the Money! Bought my spotting scope last year as my first big purchase into optics for hunting. Very happy with my purchase. The price was very reasonable and the quality of glass is uncompareable to another lower priced spotting scopes. Clarity at maxed zoom Is not darkened or distorted. Very happy with my purchase. I even compared this scope to my buddies Razor spotting scope and the difference was minuscule. Keep in mind if you want to do a lot of glassing with a window mount you may want the straight scope. I bought the angled scope so when your using a tripod in the mountains it's a little easier on your neck looking around. BUY THIS SCOPE!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this junk preiod Spotting scope works great at 20*40 but at 60 like looking through glass with water on it. Sent it back in for repair or replace you know that life time warranty bs yea right, and they sent it back no change no problem found, I let 4 other shooters at the range try it, all said the same thing at 20 and 40 good to go but at 60 its messed up. But not to worry, I work at a gun shop full time and at a range part time I will give Vortex better service than they gave me, by relating this experience to all my customers when they ask what not to buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome combination of performance and value I have owned my DB spotting scope for about 4 years now. It has been a regular at the range, but also has gone on hunting trips out west. In either environment, I have been pleased with the clarity that this scope provides. It is a bit heavy, so it needs to be stabilized on the right tripod, which helps to further enhance the performance. I dropped my scope the other week, and was apprehensive. The reputation for the warranty is great, but I was not sure that it would cover "Stupid". It does--the team at Vortex repaired my scope, and I got it back in as-new condition. Was really pleased with their service, and will buy more of their products because of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great spotting scope, great price! This spotting scope is awesome! I've used it for deer, elk, and Barbary sheep hunting. Never had an issue! Definitely a good spotting scope if you're on a budget! The warranty Vortex offers is amazing! I dropped this on a deer hunt and scratched the lense pretty good and sent it off and within 8 days of shipping it to Vortex I had it back! I own a few Vortex scopes and binoculars as well and they are all awesome! I will never buy another brand of optics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best warranty ever This dimondback spotting scope was my first Vortex product, I got it used off Craigslist and within the first year of having it the wind blew it over while I was hunting in the backcountry and cracked the lens. I went on to the vortex website and filled out the warranty forms and mailed it to them and within a couple weeks I had my spotting scope back with now Crack in it. It's nice to see a company that will stand behind there products 100% without proof of purchase I am switching all my optics over to Vortexs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great field glass that doesn't break the bank. While this doesn't compare to the Viper HD line these give the best bang for the buck when compared to other spotting scopes of this price range. I've used Vortex, Swavoski, Kowia, and others on firing lines out to 1000m in competitive shooting and this one is as good as any of them on a bright sunny day at the range. I have also used this scope glassing for Elk, Deer, Antelope, and Javalina and it works good for that though in low light the higher end Viper's better coatings allow more light and contrast for seeing through glare and shadow when looking for animals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vastly exceeded my expectations! I bought this to use as a spotting scope for archery, and it works better than any that I have ever used! The view is crisp and clean, and the focus works fantastically. As a test when I got this scope, I decided to point it at the brightest star in the sky, to see if I could focus on something that far out. Turns out, I found Jupiter! You could clearly see the planet with 4 of its moons. Recently, I decided to look for Saturn, since the orbits were more or less aligned and after some searching, I found it! I was pretty skeptical about being able to view something so far out, but you could clearly see that it was Saturn and its rings! I would recommend this scope to anyone as it has so many great uses! I would add photos of my stargazing adventures, but I would have to search my phone for them :p.

I am looking to see what connection this scope has so I can mount it on a table top tripod.

Asked by: MattF
The tripod has a 1/4x20 threaded hole in the bottom of the foot that can be used to attach it to a tripod quick release plate.

I see an answer saying Vortex does not offer digiscoping adapters but I have seen a company called "Novagrade" that has adapters for Nikon cameras. I know you won't guarantee their compatibility, but any idea if they would work on an angled diamondback?

Asked by: Greg B
Yes, the Novagrade adapter will work on the Diamondback spotting scopes.

What is eyepiece diameter and the diameter of the external casing around the eyepiece? I'm curious if it will fit an adapter used to hold a cell phone / camera.

Asked by: Doug
The outside of the eyepiece is 50.7 mm. Phone Skope makes an adapter for cell phones that will fit the Diamondback spotting scopes if you are looking for an adapter.
