Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding gear Hunting, observing wildlife, shooting and reading livestock ear tags are all improved with binoculars. This scope is definitely high quality. The weight for a 20-60 x 80 spotter makes it easily carried and set up. Light transmission, focus, and clarity are all outstanding. As a former Forward Observer I appreciate good glass like Vortex. My family has really enjoyed using Vortex glass while observing our livestock and wildlife. After receiving a Diamondback spotting scope as a gift I couldn't wait to try more Vortex products, and I haven't been disappointed. I don't think there are any better optics for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great products with a great warranty! After my first trip to Montana I decided to pick up this Diamondback spotting scope to help pick apart the landscape out there. What a huge difference it made this last fall! It's lightweight, fits great in my pack and the protective coating on it is nice. (I'm not exactly gentle on my equipment.) It does get a little fuzzy when it's maxed out but it still did what I needed it to do. I would suggest spending the money on a good tripod for it as well. All in all it's a great spotting scope for the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely satisfied! I upgraded all my optics this year to the diamondback series. Being a guide and a hunter in central wyoming, good optics are very import. The diamondback 20-60x80 as gone beyond satisfied my needs. The compact size and weight makes it perfect for my high country packs into the backcountry and the clarity can not be beat. I can see long past any other optics after the sun goes does allowing me to see more of those nocturnal critters. I will be a vortex optics customer for life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely a great spotting scope. My buddy just picked this scope up before our archery deer season. We spent five days in the backcountry of Colorado chasing monster mulies. I was able to see how this scope performed and it did well the clarity of the optics were great and had no issues with the lenses foging up in the cool early morning hours. I will be investing in these optics for my self. I was berry impressed, and way cheaper then the top of the line optics like leopold or sworavski.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stuff I put hours on this spotting scope each year looking for moose, caribou, sheep, and bear with some of the worst weather imaginable... this spotter has never fogged up on me despite bouncing around in my ranger and being n knocked over multiple times.. for the money this scope will smoke all that are comparable. After 40x it does get grainy. 60x is almost not even worth having as an option.. fantastic scope for the lower end of the spotting line!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great spotting scope for a great price! We just bought this scope for our 5th wedding anniversary this year! My husband and I needed a spotting scope in addition to our diamondback binoculars! When glassing for deer we usually spot them through the binoculars and its very handy to be able to zoom in with the scope! We are very satisfied with this purchase as it's a high quality scope for a very reasonable price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and durability I have had this scope for over a year and a half, and every time I use it amazes me. The optics are very clear and with the 80 mm objective lens, the picture is bright. The zoom does darken the image but that is expected with almost any spotting scope. Great quality for the price and a lifetime warranty! You can never go wrong with buying anything made by Vortex.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Budget minded equipment Ok for 100 yard shots at a target on the range. Anything more than 20 power is blurry. Definitely not a game spotter. Save up and spend the money required to get the premium optics.

How far can bullet holes be seen on paper clearly with the Diamondback Spotting Scope when target shooting?

This will depend on bullet size, lighting, and conditions. You should be able to see bullet holes in paper out to approximately 100 yards with the Diamondback.
