Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Spotter for Longer Range Precision Rifle This spotter is absolutely fantastic for longer range spotting needs. When I'm RO'ing longer range stages, the Razor HD works great. The focus is fast and precise and the clarity is phenomenal all the way up to max power! My ONLY issue with this spotter appear when stages are shorter range or require a wide field of view. Even on the low end, this spotter may be too much for mover engagements inside 500 yards or wider field fire engagements. It's not really a problem with the spotter, more just a design of the stage that makes it not ideal. Backed by the VIP warranty I never worry about it while packing in any conditions i encounter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crystal clear and rock solid This is a great piece of glass. I actually have the older model from last year, but the clarity is only improved on this new model. The focus is very simple and the sun shade comes in handy on those bright days or early mornings glassing while the sun is coming up. This is a heavy scope, but I haven't compared it much to other brands in this category. It's going to increase your pack weight for sure, plus you'll have to be sure to get a trip sturdy enough to handle the weight here. Regardless, if you are a Western hunter and you spend a lot of time glassing, you are going to accept the additional weight as it is going to pay off in dividends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Hunting Tool Bought this spotter to help cover more area at greater distances to hunt Coues deer in AZ. Paired with my phoneskope, I was able to save my legs and see deer over 2 miles away that I would have never known what they were without it. I was able record some amazing footage while scouting and hunting. Also, at the range I didn't need a buddy to help spot for me when shooting distances beyond 500 yds. The Razor and Phoneskope once again helped me know what adjustments I needed to make to get dialed in. If you're on the fence about the weight between the 60mm and the 85mm, do yourself a favor and go with the 85mm. You will not regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Razor Sharp If you like to hike like me, then the new Razor HD 27-60x85mm angled spotting scope is something you need to have. Glassing entire sections of mtns ranges knowing exactly where I want to go is a game changer with this scope. I am most impressed with the new Razors ability to continue to have a sharp, crisp, and clear image all the way to full magnification. The amazing sharpness of this optic, combined with its incredible performance in low light conditions, makes this a scope everyone needs. Thank you Vortex for making products of this quality, at a price point that the every day common hunter can afford. Thank you Vortex Optics!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will recommend vortex products to anyone with any pricepoint since getting this spotting scope, I have used it on 5 Nevada hunts. Antelope, deer, and 3 elk hunts. The one that stands out the most is our bull tag. We were watching a small herd of elk on the border of Great Basin National Park after the sun had been down for a while (the border runs along the top of the mountain). It makes a huge difference being able to watch these animals while it is getting dark. The ergonomics of this scope is amazing. It feels like it is just another limb of your body. To top it off, you cannot beat VIP warranty that vortex offers for all of their optics for no charge. That is a major selling point for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exceptional bang for the buck After I purchased the Razor binoculars I decided to go for a spotting scope as well. I compared it to the top of the line brands and it is almost on the top with those. The sharpness is not far from them but it’s capability to collect light is not as good as those. But with that said does not mean that it’s not good, I’ve spotted birds and other animals where the naked eye could have never spotted it. I can’t do anything but highly recommend this amazing optics. Attached to this review is one of my digiscoped photos and I can’t say I’m not satisfied with the result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Can't Beat it For the Price I went to a long range shooting school two years ago with my son. We shot as teams and learned the roles of shooter/spotter working together. One of the many things we practiced was to watch for bullet trace. I was using a good spotting scope but all the instructors were using Razor HD spotting scopes. I borrowed one of them for awhile and what a difference. We were shooting out to 1200+ yards, and the Razor HD was crystal clear at all distances. I gave my spotting scope to my son and bought one of these - worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scope with Great Durability I bought this scope not to long ago and only used it to scout Spring Turkeys and to Scout whitetail just before how season started. I had great success with this scope. Using it in the Midwest it proved plenty durable whether I was spotting from the truck or on top of a brushy hill. I never had an issue with the scope fogging up or not being able to clearly see what I was looking at. The true test of the scope was these last couple weeks ago when it was used in Colorado to spot some Muleys. I loaned it to a friend and he brought it back all dusty with nothing but good things to say. He decided he needed to buy his own.

Will Vortex make a Bi-ocular adapter for their spotting scopes?

What is your recommend tabletop tripod for the razor hd? I see all of the vortex brand tripods are meant to be used standing or with a stool. I shoot long range precision from the prone position and like to have the scope next to me on the shooting mat.

Asked by: Cole Trickle
We don't really have a table top tripod per se. But, you may want to look at some of what Manfrotto has to offer in mini tripods.

Does the mount plate on the Razor 27-60x85 angled scope fit on the Vortex Pro GT tripod without an adaptor plate?

Asked by: Gebada
No, you will use the quick release plate that comes with the Pro GT. Having said that, the foot of the Razor is Manfrotto RC-2 compatible.

Can I mount Burris Optics FastFire III 3-MOA Red-Dot Reflex Sight on Razor HD 27-60x85 (Angled)?

Asked by: Paul
I recommend using the edge of the objective lens as you look down the side of the scope to line up the optic. If you're able to somehow find a way to attach the red dot you can, it does not come with a mount or picatinny rail.

On the magnification ring why does the 48x align right above the 60x should it not be between the 40 and 50x. How do you know whether you are on 48x or 60x. Is there an adjustment that matches either the top or the bottom number on the ring.

I have the older version of the Razor HD Scope. When I use it at sub-minus temperatures, the zoom fails to work. I googled this problem and it seems it's a common issue. Is this not a warranty issue? Up here in Canada it gets cold eh!

Asked by: Siuco
This was a known problem with the first batch of Gen I scopes we received. We corrected the problem with a replacement eyepiece and we have one for you. If you would like us to send you that, please contact us at 800-426-0048 Ext. 6, and ask for Lynette. Thank you!
