Good solid product
I bought one after taking a trip to Central Europe and standing at the top of the Petřín Lookout Tower wishing I had brought a monocular or binoculars for sightseeing. Its small, light and easy to carry in a pocket. I have taken it camping and to the rifle range. It performs as expected. I am not an optics expert but its light transmission at dusk seems better than I would expect at the price point I paid. On the downsides, like all monoculars its never going to be as good as a pair of binoculars due to how the human vision system works. Also the neoprene case it came with is not as well made as I would like. It presently lives in my car's glove box.

Awesome monocular for the money
Great little monocular, I was a little hesitant to order because I have a 10x25 solo that I am not so fond of, but the 8x36 is awesome. I prefer to use monoculars for bow hunting to save on weight, and this gets the job done. Crystal clear glass and gathers a ton of light. The only down side to this is that the focus ring was a little tough to rotate at first, but after using it for a couple of weeks it loosened up and is much easier to use.

The perfect mono for any task
I got this monocular to keep in my pack. I feel that having a mono handy is always a good thing. The solo 8x36 is ideal for scouting an area for a hunt. Being so compact and handy, you can easily take it out to ensure your area is the perfect location for you. After, you can set up your spotting scope and rest assured that you wont need to repack and relocate. Another benefit to this mono is that it has an amazing eye relief and allows you to acquire your sight picture with ease!

Great Compact Tool
Great product. I used it on a couple of trips and really enjoyed it. The compact size makes the Solo a breeze to pack (whether in a backpack or carry on bag). Despite the small size, the rubberized body is just large enough to grip and handle easily, including adjusting the focus. The Solo survived in the Rockies and in the tropics of Central America without hiccup. Great compromise if you cannot carry full binoculars and want to take a closer look at something.

Great for packing
I bought the 8x36 Solo to take on an elk hunt in Colorado this past fall. I have glaucoma in one eye and it makes it a little difficult to see in binocular vision as you get with regular binos. The Solo was very nice to wear during the 9 day trip. I had the Solo on the lanyard around my neck and then clipped to my jacket. With the Solo, you never have to mess with the eye spacing and it is very quick to get on target. I also like the fact that you do not loose your peripheral vision with your other eye. I know a police officer that bought one for that exact reason.

Recommend for any professional/recreational shooter
This product is extremely helpful while helping a single student make sight corrections and grading targets. It cuts time nearly by 1/3 with walking time to check paper. The lens is extremely clearly and the magnification level helps keep us on target and not getting "lost in the glass." It's been knocked over rattled around and no damage has been noted on the optic showing us the quality of the craftsmanship. We are looking at getting each of our instructors outfitted with one each to help speed things along.

Great monocular for low vision
My 8yr old son has extremely low vision and is blind in one eye. He loves this monocular, it allows him to see things past 15ft.the wide angle of view is great. He had a school monocular but it's better for indoor viewing.

Best backpacking optic ever
I purchased this optic for backpacking. Took it to Mt Rainier and was able to see more wild life and even helped me navigate. I am super happy with how clear light weight and rugged it is.

I was looking at the Solo 8x36 monocular. Can you please tell me what type of glass is used, BAK4, BAK7? Thank you.
The Solos use BaK 4 prisms.

Can you get flipcap covers to fit this and if so what size?
Flip caps will not fit on the objective of your monocular because the outside is not round.
