Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended As soon as I picked this tool up I could tell it was a quality instrument. It's hefty, tight and solid with smooth adjustments in 1lb. increments. Previously the only other torque driver of this type I had used was Wheeler FAT wrench and there is absolutely no comparison. Adjustments on the FAT wrench were in 5lb. increments and loose, making it difficult to insure any degree of accuracy and just marginally better than going by feel. This tool came with a certificate of calibration and is simply worlds better. Great for mounting optics and at it's a steal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Tool I Need at a Price I Can Afford: What A Concept! Seems like a quality-built tool. Very easy to use and adjust. I used this to tighten Vortex Precision Matched Rings on my new Razor HD 5-20x50 MRAD scope. Vortex includes a packing slip with the scope suggesting no more than 18 in/lbs on the rings. The only other in/lb torque wrench I had in-house started at 25 in/lbs. Torque wrenches that go below 25 in/lbs can be expensive, so I was quite pleased to find this one on the Vortex site. So far I've only used the T-25 Torx bit, but it worked well and all the included buts seem of equally high quality. I now have the peace of mind knowing my scope is attached per factory specs. Very pleased I made this purchase and I would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid High Quality Wrench In A Convenient Package! Perfect tool for mounting your optic or any other job were in/lbs torque specs are a must! This wrench was well thought out, is stupid easy to use, and works perfectly. Torqued my Vortex Precision Matched Rings down in a snap without having to worry about over torquing them and damaging my Razor HD GEN II 4.5-27X56 optic. Comes in a convenient twist lock package that's easy to throw in your range bag for any adjustments you might need to make in the field. Wish it worked from 1-50 in/lbs to be able torque my Vortex Switchview Throw Lever, but otherwise this tool is all you'll need at the range!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snap-on doesn't have anything on this wrench! Listen, I have a Snap-on and wheeler torque wrench. Truth be told I bought this because it looked sweet with the anodized gold. However this thing is AWESOME! Not only does it look cool it puts both of my other torque wrenches to shame. The adjustment is precise, and break is perfect. Over all quality and ergonomics a 10!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The quality is top of the line. I'm so happy what does product I would recommend it to anyone who does any gun work. There are other torque wrenches out there but none of them have this quality. I am super impressed with it. I haven't seen these on any other websites for some reason I'm surprised they don't try to sell more of them. I have a friend who has the wheeler fat wrench and after him seeing mine he wanted to throw it away. And it offers 1lb increments. Just another great product from vortex

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool! I ordered this torque wrench on 05/10/2016, It was at my front door on 05/12/2016, with free shipping nonetheless. I have not had a chance to use the tool yet but it looks very well made, very solid with positive click on the settings. The certificate of calibration that comes with it shows a very precise instrument well under the industry standard of 6% The price is right, I would definitely recommend this tool to friends. Thank you Vortex.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and simple Makes everything quick and easy when dialing in the correct inch pounds for mounting precision optics. It takes the guesswork and any over tightening errors out to ensure mounting success. I still recommend a very small amount of Loctite on all small screws in order to ensure nothing vibrates and backs out especially if you're throwing your riflr in and out of your truck or quad

Does the torque wrench work for the cross fire ll 2-7x32 scope

Asked by: Aed1
The Torque Wrench will will work for many uses, it can be used whenever you need to use a precise amount of torque to tighten a fastener and is not exclusive to just scopes.

Can the wrench be used counterclockwise to unscrew hex and torx screws (does it lock)?

Asked by: Anonymous
It does lock but only for the tightening process. You could set the poundage higher and see if that works.

Should the torque wrench be stored in the lowest increment as to not throw off the calibration? I've read that some other brands you should do this when not using the wrench but I did not see anything in the manual on this.

Asked by: Cupton
I recommend storing it at its lowest setting when storing the tool.

Winchester Model 70 (30.06) w/ Vortex Diamondback HP scope. Scope mounting base is Leupold 2 piece mount. What torque setting should I torque these 2 pieces to? And do you recommend using Blue Loctite on the base screws? What about using the Blue Loctite on the Viper Ring screws? Or is just torqueing down the rings screws sufficient?
Asked by: Kilo
For the base specs I would recommend checking with Leupold, usually I go 25-30 in lbs using a dab of blue Loctite. Using Loctite on the base screws is perfectly ok, but do not use it on the ring screws themselves. This will lubricate the threads and throw off the reading of your torque wrench. You will get about a 30-60% overtorque, which in turn will compress your scope tube and prevent it from performing correctly. We always recommend 15-18 in lbs on the ring screws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than worth it! Great Product! I ordered this after some issues with the rings on a mounted scope not being properly torqued. It arrived very quickly and the quality was top notch. It is very easily adjustable and simple to use. With it, I made quick work of the rings and got the scope properly secured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Grade Just the ticket for scope mounting, this torque wrench is much better than all the ones I've seen used on YouTube. It not only looks and feels great but works really well. Don't know how I got by mounting all my scopes through the years without one.
