Viper® HS 4-16x44 LR™ Riflescope

Limited Availability

Want to extend your effective shooting range at distances where bullet drop and wind drift become critical? Take a look at the Viper HS LR riflescope. The LR stands for long range — and we mean it. This riflescope features an exposed target-style elevation turret built for dialing elevation at extended ranges. The capped windage turret maintains the scope’s sleek lines and prevent it from hanging up on clothing, rifle cases or pack scabbards.

Viper HS LR™ riflescopes feature an advanced optical system highlighted with a 4x zoom range for magnification versatility. A forgiving eye box with increased eye relief gets shooters on target quickly and easily. Built on an ultra-strong 30mm one-piece machined aluminum tube for increased windage and elevation travel and optimal adjustment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Scope! Go get you one. I absolutely love this Scope,The fit and finish is flawless, The glass is the clearest I've owned, very user friendly and accurate turrets,This scope has boosted my confidence @ all ranges during my use hunting,I will also say it has improved my shot accuracy dramatically. I don't own a custom rifle, Just an out of the box Ruger American .308 and this proves you don't need a high dollar rifle to shoot good but rather a quality Scope,Not saying I don't like the rifle just saying you won't have to break the bank to shoot with the big boy's!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around Optic........ This is the perfect all round Optic ive found so far, weather your hunting whitetail, hogs or shooting steel at long ranges the scope can do it! I have this one on a Savage 10PC 308 and it looks great. I've also matched up my favorite loads with the vortex ballistic software on their website and can easily hit 500yrds 12" steel. This scope looks great on traditional hunting rifles, tactical bolt guns, or a beloved MSR type rifle. All in all Vortex makes great optics and this one is one of my favorites. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far it's awesome! Let me start out by saying that i just mounted this on my Christensen Arms 6.5 Creedmoor two weeks ago and have only been to the range one time. Using a bore sighter i was able to zero in at 100 yards with just 4 rounds. I made the adjustments to the turrets (which are really smooth) as indicated by my ballistics chart and hit a 10" target at 500 yards first try. I was considering putting a ,000 scope on this gun as it is built for precision shooting, however, i think the Vortex is everything i need at a great price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used to be Nikon fan, until now. Bought the Viper HS LR 4-16x44 for my new Bergara B14 7mm mag. After purchasing, I decided I wanted to stick with a Nikon, because it's all I had ever purchased. Took the scope back to the store and went to get the Nikon. The salesman at the store all looked at me like I was crazy for swapping the Vortex for the Nikon. They all said Vortex was better quality, AND had a much better warranty. They even said Vortex was setting the standard for what the other name brands were doing as far as warranty and quality. After looking closer at it, I did not like Nikon's BDC reticle, and the glass did not seem as clear as the Vortex. Ended up re-purchasing the scope I had returned, along with the Vortex rings, and mounted it up, and I'm so glad I did. What an awesome setup. I'm a vortex fan now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clear glass I purchased this scope for my .308 about a year ago to replace a Redfield scope that I was unhappy with after using Swaravski and Leupold optics on some of my other rifles. I have to say, Vortex is top notch! The glass is crystal clear, the adjustments are easy as the clicks are crisp and repeatable. I will be using Vortex in the future over other brands. I am very happy with this scope and have recommended Vortex to anyone looking for new glass!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding improvement to "package optics" After shooting in bright sunlight, overcast with rain/heavy rain, failing light at dusk, and foggy humid mornings I can admit I should have paid twice as much for the performance my Viper HS LR delivers. Crystal clear images, simple adjustments and coatings that appear to magically eliminate fogging (a problem with previous scopes I've owned.) I plan on adding more Vipers and potentially a Razor on future rifles. Outstanding

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deadly accurate I mounted this scope on my Remington 700 30.06. Vortex customer service recommended a set of precision matched rings and a 20 moa rail by Evolution Gun Works. They were dead on. It holds a zero and My son and I were able to harvest two Nice Blacktail Bucks on opening day at 356 yards. I am so impressed with this scope that I just ordered another. I've always been a Leupold customer until now. Vortex is amazing. Jimmy T

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first scope After years of using iron sights, my eyes are finally going. I am just too stubborn to go to the eye doctor. I purchased this scope to mount on my Browning X-Bolt Stainless Stalker in .308 Win. I used a Tilley picitanny rail mount with Vortex scope rings. The set up is great and bagged a nice 11 point buck this season. The optics are super clear and let in extra light for a great site picture. Love this scope!

This scope would work very well on your .300 mag, you can use our LRBC program to find what the hashmarks on the reticle will come out to for your specific setup: http://www.vortexoptics.com/content/lrbc.

What rings would you recommend for mounting this scope on a Remington 700 sps.270
Asked by: Shawn
I recommend a 1 piece picatinny rail from www.egwguns.com and a set of our Precision Matched 30 mm rings in 0.87" height.
Answered by: Mike at Vortex Optics
Date published: 2017-06-23

How well would this work on a 22-250 for long range varminting? (200-500yards, maybe further) and i would be shooting in a dusty desert-ish environment, would i need to worry about the turrets getting clogged with dust more so than on your average rifle?
Asked by: SamSchindell
It would work well for you. Function should still be just fine in the dusty environment. I would be more inclined to go with the HS-T, which would allow you to also dial wind for a constant breeze.

What height rings fit the savage stealth.
Asked by: George
You can go with a set of low Viper or Precision Matched Rings for that application.
