Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome Riflescope! I am replacing my old riflescopes to the Vortex lineup. As I have got older, I have needed a clearer, brighter Riflescope for my primary rifles. This scope is one of three I have purchased this year. I mounted it on a Winchester model 70 in .270 Win. I used a 20mm rail, and Vortex rings. The bore-sighting, and 100 yard sight-in was the easiest experience I have had compaired with other scopes. The Vortex LRBC, and Deadhold BDC Retical, is a great system. I have turned an old rifle new again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again! I decide to give Vortex a try on my new hunting Rifle, after reading all the great reviews. After sighting in my rifle I already loved it. After hunting with it last year I will never go back to another brand of Optics!! The low light visability is second to none, the clarity of the glass is comparable to scopes that cost twice as much. The warranty is the best in the buisness! If anyone is on the market for a new scope buy Vortex, I plan on replacing all my scopes with Vortex optics!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Optics Period I have the original Vortex Viper. I honestly didn't think the optics could get better, but what a wonderful surprise it was. I put this scope on my new Remington 7mm and it is amazing. The clarity is far above other brand name scopes I have used. The adjustment and reach of this model is amazing as well. Everything is so clear from 50 yards to 800 yards. I could not be happier. I can happily say that all my rifles now have Vortex and will for my lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best scopes I've ever owned! I use all vortex products. I hunt high, back country elk in the Rockies of Colorado. Your scopes have endured snow, ice, rain....Falls hahaha. I am hard on equipment and when I'm 6 miles from the truck, I need dependability!!! Vortex, through the weather and the tough terrain falls that I seem to encounter trying to push the limits, your scopes, binoculars and rangefinder has never let me down in that moment of truth! I'll never buy another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glass I bought this product a couple weeks back and still haven't found anything bad to say about it. I put it on my 300 win mag and went coyote hunting on the family ranch. Sadly didn't see any dogs but I'm confident there weren't any around because I could see every detail on bushes about 400 away. Spotted a golden eagle around 300 yards away and could count how many times he blinked. Great optics lead to great stories

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will never buy any other scope again I grew up shooting with high dollar glass such as nigh force and Leopold ,and decided to try out vortex on a couple of My rifles. Well I was not disappointed the glass would be in the same category if not better than some of thoose "higher dollar" scopes and will be all I buy from now on. I have it on everything from auto loaded rifle clear up to my .300 ultramag and it handles the abuse again and again !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Are you kidding ! ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Hands down best service. Hands down best optic and only I will ever recommend or buy. My Viper HS keeps me accurate out to 600 for coyotes and occasionally long range out to 850. Very clear, easily adjustable turrets and holds zero better than any optic I've had and we're rough on them. Been dropped from the truck, completely wet in storms and below freezing but never has failed or left me unimpressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great scope. It's held up against the toughest mt conditions I live in montana where it's hard to find a good scope that is tough and reliable enough to hold up against these hunting conditions. I bought this vortex scope because it was on sale at my local sporting goods store and it's been great. I have had leupold, bushnell, and nikon scopes before but this vortex beats them all hands down. It's tuff, clear, and accurate. Will be buying vortex products again.

I'm exploring the idea of having custom turrets made for my rifle/scope setup. Is this something that I can have done with this scope?

Asked by: Jammer
Yes, you can get custom turrets made for your scope from www.kentonindustries.com.

I’m looking at these scopes and i wanted to know if this would be a good deer hunting scope and what power i would need. I don’t know a lot about scopes but i would like a good scope that can zoom well and hold a zero

Asked by: Jerhunni
The 6-24x50 version of the Viper HS is a lot of magnification for deer hunting, we typically recommend our 2.5-10x44 or 4-16x sizes in the Viper HS line for hunting. They will hold zero very well, we recommend using a good quality set of rings torqued to our specs of 15-18 inch pounds with no Loctite.

I recently purchased a Viper HS VHS-4319 to mount on a Savage 10-TSR rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Should I use a 20 MOA Pic rail for 1,000 yd shooting? If so, how will this affect 100-200 yard zeroing? Can I use the zero MOA rail for 1,000 yds?

I'm Talking after I zero the scope. To reset to zero pull up and turn it should go down to the bottom or last mark on the turret. It goes to right above the second line going up. It should go even with the last line. This question is for Mike. Thank You !

Asked by: Micluke
The lines under the turret are there as rotation indicators and show where you are in the overall internal travel of the scope. There is no way to reset the turret down to that zero line because that would move the internals of the scope and would change your zero. If you would like a further explanation, give us a call at 800-4236-0048 ext 5.

I have a Vortex Viper HS 6X24X50 Dead Hold BDC. On the turrets, say I want to reset to zero. There is one thing I cannot get it to go down to the very bottom. I know how to reset to zero but I want it at the bottom horizontal hash mark. Are there shims?

Asked by: Micluke
The turret cannot go down to the bottom because those lines are indicators of where the internals are in the overall range of travel. If you were to lower it down to the bottom line it would change your point of impact.

I have a Ruger M77 Mark II .308. Looking to mount the 6-24x50 scope....but Ruger uses it's own ring mounting style...should i go for a medium or high ring setup?

Any suggestions on mount and rings for this scope on a Remington 700 AAC-SD Tactical in .308?

Asked by: Steve
I recommend a 1 piece picatinny rail from www.egwguns.com and a set of our Precision Matched Rings in 0.87" height.
