Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Classic Vortex Scope! I have owned/still own about 8 different Vortex scopes over the years. Actually my very first "good" scope was a Viper PST 4-16 FFP. However, in the PST line, this 6-24 with the EBR-2 christmas tree style reticle was the perfect fit for me and my rifles. Awesome clarity and brightness, return to zero and tracking is spot-on, and it's very light compared to my other scopes, which makes it perfect for a hunting rifle. This scope will always have a place on one of my rifles no matter what, as it just flat out works, and helps me to put the rounds exactly where I want them to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome steel plinking viewing device I bought this scope to get a first focal plane variable power scope for long range shooting. I put the scope on a bolt rifle. I have used the scope from 25 yards out to 1100 yards with no problems. Would love to take it out even further and plan to. From the first time I pulled the scope out of the box to taking it to the range a few weeks ago I’m still impressed. My favorite feature is the EBR-2C reticle. The reticle is great for fast holds and measuring distance. You can tell using it that it is well thought out. The lines aren’t too thick (or thin for that matter) and every mark is useful. The only oddity is the “open center”, but I got use to using it quickly and now that I’m familiar with it, it’s just another tool in the tool box. Everyone wants to know about the glass. I have no complaints, just praise. It’s clear and bright, even during dawn and dusk. The illumination works well for those odd hours too. I have only used it a couple times in the pitch black of night and had no problems using the reticle. When it comes down to resolution, I was really impressed. I’ve been able to see impacts and make quick adjustments on the fly and it really makes me look cool with my buddies. I know it’s the equipment making me look good, but it still a great feeling. I would call this scope a technical scope, because you can adjust your turrets for tracking, use the reticle, and adjust the parallax. But it’s isn’t overwhelming to use. I can tell you after spinning the turrets alot it always has returned to zero. I’ve come to count on that fact and it’s set my standard high. Speaking of the turrets, they’re easy to use. I like the clicks they make. You can use it without taking your eye off the reticle. The zero stop is easy to set and makes “resets” fast and easy. Be warned though these things have some mean knurling, so gloves in the wet cold… you’re golden. But if you’re bare handing it, take your time. I really hope Vortex doesn’t change that though. To the scope’s credit, it’s built for knocking around. I can say my scope isn’t a safe queen and you can put it away wet and not worry. It will be ready to go when you pull it back out. Final thoughts, I’d buy another one of these without thinking about it. I refer Vortex and this scope to people that ask for my opinion. I have learned so much and pushed my abilities a lot after picking mine up. Honestly this was an investment for me. Because of all the features and versatility there is no looking back and haven’t felt the need to upgrade it. Truly is a great value.

I'm looking for a scope that the Elevation turret can be customized for the ballistics of the ammo I am shooting. I don't know the exact terminology, but basically I want to be able to turn the turret to whatever yardage I am shooting and BANG!

Asked by: Kiken
You can get custom turrets from our friends at www.kentonindustries.com, they have custom turrets for most of our scopes.

What is the difference between the precision matched and the tactical rings? Why one of these costs U$S 100 more?

Asked by: FrankC
The Precision Matched Rings are a higher quality ring and they are manufactured to much tighter tolerances as a pair while the Tactical Rings are designed for single ring use with red dots.
