Rated 5 out of 5 by from missed by 2 feet I got this mounted on my Savage Model 10 Predator in 6.5 creedmoor. my zero 1.5" high at 100. as the title says i missed a grey squirrel the other day. i was 2 feet left of it. Now i will say this scope had my elevation dead on! i did not account for the 4-5 mph cross breeze blowing from R-L. the scope did its job. I did not do mine. Oh ya, the squirrel was 825 yards out in a cut soy bean field. My drop was 243" at that distance. read the manual and this scope will never fail you as long as you do your part!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Literally best bang for the buck! I bought this for my F Class 6.5x284. The price was right and the features were better than any other in its class. I run a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 on my F T/R 308 and I must admit the Vortex is just as good and better since I can get 2 of them for 1 NF. Literally everyone that has looked through the glass is impressed and side by side 8/10 prefer the Vortex. If I could return the NF I would. It works great at 1000yrd and after setting the turret stop I actually get 74MOA of adjustment. According to my ballistic calculator I can dial to 1950yrd before I need to use the reticle for holdover. Not likely with this round of course but if you want long range with a magnum caliber this scope might just do it for. FYI, I do have a 20MOA base. In a nutshell, buy it! Too bad they are so hard to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glass for 23 hours After 7 months of waiting my PST gen II arrived Monday evening! I mounted and bore sighted it on my new 28 Nosler. The next day I took it to the range and zeroed it right in at 200 yds picture perfect & then put a few more shots down range. Was feeling great about the rifle glass combo and headed to work. Came out on break to find someone had smashed my window and stolen my new favorite rifle and Scope. I was sick physically and mentally after that. On a positive note I was super impressed and will be getting another when I can save my pennies again. Maybe there won’t be such a wait next time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenominal Scope and Customer Service! Purchased this scope (Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 SFP) back in May to go on top of my 22-250 for a Prairie Dog trip in South Dakota. I haven't been disappointed yet. My group was shooting P-Dogs regularly at 500+ and even managed to get a few just short of 800 yards! I actually took a Swarovski Z6 2.5-15x56 off this rifle... and replaced it with this scope for the P-Dog trip! The magnification range of the PST was probably the biggest reason that I swapped the scopes out for the trip, as I really wanted to be able to zoom in on those longer shots, and P-Dogs are generally pretty easy to see. The scope performed flawlessly and has exceeded my expectations... which are pretty high. Truth be told, the PST is still sitting on that rifle... and the aforementioned scope has been resting in the safe ever since... That should say something about the performance and quality of this scope!!! I've used and am very familiar with the Gen 1 PST line, and these Gen 2s are an obvious upgrade. I really like the Illumination knob being relocated to the Side Focus knob as it keeps the scope looking much more sleek and less "busy". The Turrets on the Gen 2s are much better as well, larger diameter and shorter, which allows you to see more of the marks on the turrets and they are easier to see. Scope still feels very rugged and durable across the board. The glass was also upgraded slightly, which is nice as well, and its extremely good glass for its price point. Not sure if they changed the coatings, or started with a new chunk of glass, but there seems to be a difference over the Gen1s. All in all, if you're reading this, you're thinking about buying one... stop reading and buy it. I can't imagine how anyone would be disappointed in the scope itself or by the Vortex Customer Service. Shoot straight, and thanks again Vortex... awesome product here!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for the money With out a doubt the best long range scope for the money. It's the perfect match to my Ruger Precision Rifle 6.5 Creedmoor and the Vortex staff were spot on with matched 30mm rings.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Second Time Broken Parallax Hi guys Wish i was writing a 5 star review, but my Gen 2, 5x25 x 50 is now being sent back for a second-time warranty replacement after the second problem with parallax failure. This time parallax blew after only 6 shots. I had the scope mounted on my Weatherby Mark V 338-378 magnum. I had bought a second focal plane first and right out of the box the parallax was defective not changing focus at all at any distance and not having full travel of the knob and binding in the lower yardage range. Went through the process of sending it back to vortex in Guelph Ontario and decided to upgrade to First Focal Plane for an extra 0.00 received my new scope about a week later which was great, but then after taking my new PST to the range, everything went good until the 6th shot when all the sudden the image went from perfect focus to complete blur. Parallax was set to 100 yd mark at first, then had to completely dial down to 25 yd mark to bring to focus at 100 yds. With bullets for my gun costing 0.00 a box, this is becoming an expensive endeavor. Haven't seen much out there for parallax failure reviews. Am I an isolated case? I don't see why a nearly 00 dollar scope wouldn't be able to handle the manageable recoil of my Weatherby. I love the glass and the FFP reticle, but I'm hesitant to go through a second warranty replacement in the span of a month. If anyone else has experienced anything similar or has advice on what alternative scope I should mount on my 338-378 Weatherby mag, I'd love some feedback. I'll give Vortex one more chance but if next scope can't live up to my expectations I can't see any other alternative than getting my money back and trying something else.
