Working mom, Vortex’s Kathleen Smith embarks on her journey to become a deer hunter – for herself and her family. With limited time she and Mark Boardman hunt multiple seasons over multiple years, finally connecting on a beautiful late season doe. For so many reasons, including Wisconsin’s robust deer population, it shouldn’t have taken as long as it did. In the end, lessons learned through investing time and effort made the success sweeter and meals even more delicious. Looking back, it couldn’t have gone better.
