Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great entry-level RF Bought this rangefinder on sale. Considering the price, and warrenty, I can’t imagine i’ll need to buy a more expensive RF. I’m only using this for hunting and target practice. I’ll never need to range an animal outside 850y. Seems to be easy to use and well constructed. I like how light weight it is. So far I don’t that not having the reticle iluminated will be a big deal, especially since i’ll be using it during the day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome new product! This is the first rangefinder I've ever owned. I've used other ones before and this is the best one I've found for the price. It is quick to pick up and very accurate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good range finder but. I bought this rangefinder for hunting, its an amazing product. Vortex always shows up. I only buy Vortex for optics. However going into the 3d archery session I noticed that it doesn't read well on all black targets like bears and hogs. I talked 4 guys into buying this finder and all of us have the same issue. It will not pick up 3d targets that are black. Step your game up vortex :) Love you guys. #teamvortex

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gift for my dad and he loves it! I bought the Impact range finder 2 Xmas's ago and he's used it every time he's been out hunting since. He mostly crossbow hunts now but old eyes are getting more difficult to tell the difference between 30 and 50! Those make major changes in the way you aim your crossbow for those that don't know. It's the difference in hitting the kill zone vs hitting the dirt by its feet at 50 yards on a whitetail. He loves it and I'm thinking about buying myself one or the next model up to help with my rifle hunting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great for target shooting and bow hunting. I purchased this range finder about year ago. If you are ranging targets or short distances for archery this range finder is spot on. Big game hunting the finder has a lot to be desired. Just recently I was moose hunting. I knew the moose was around 200 yards. Could not get my finder to give me a range. Previously when deer hunting I have always had to range near by objects because it will not range game. I will be spending more money in future on range finder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for target shooting. I live in Ohio on my farm and I have a range of 500 yards that my buddies and I shoot at. We all went in on this rangefinder and never needed another again. Amazingly clear like all vortex scopes but most importantly top notch accurate. This has been close to six years ago. Also to note the battery life is very long. I and my two other friends have only changed batteries twice since we purchased this bad boy from Cabela’s. Very much do I recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and compact for the minimalist I purchased this rangefinder mainly for the lifetime warranty; however, it has also turned out to be a highly reliable piece of equipment. I’ve haven’t had any issues with it yet. Nice and lightweight, and fits right into one of the small pockets of my Alaska Guide rig. I certainly recommend this product if you’re not looking to make shots over 400 meters or so. Perfect for bow and eastern whitetail seasons in thick forest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value! Had this since before last hunting season. Works great for me. Bow hunting, shorter range hunting, and light target shooting. The provided lanyard broke, but it was not a big deal. I keep it in a pocket anyway. Has been accurate. Only gripe is the reticle is not illuminated for early morning hunts. But cant beat it for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Budget Hunters Recently ordered the Impact after looking through it at work one day. I love the readout (even though it isn't red), how accurate it is and how quick it displays. For someone looking for quality at a decent price this is where to go. I'm excited to keep using it this season. The only thing I would've loved to see was the pocket clip like the Rangers have, everything else is awesome for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t beat these for the price Have had this rangefinder for over a year. They work flawlessly. The only downfall is I wish the lettering was in red instead of black so it was easier to see in low light conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and performance Just got this rangefinder for Christmas from my wife. Have had it out a few times now and it seems to work just as Vortex says it does. If you are a big game hunter in more open country, you might want to consider one of the Ranger models, only due to the fact that sometimes it's nice to get a feel for the distance some of those much further off animals may be and how much distance you need to close to make an ethical shot. But I have enjoyed using this Impact 850 model so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for what I need I bought this range finder after another brand took a mild tumble and stopped reading right. This range finder is fantastic. I use it primarily for archery season given it is a mid range finder. I find the accuracy to be fantastic and well within their promised discrepancy. Recently I received a pair of binoculars for vortex but have not had the chance to use in the field. Very satisfied!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Only been hunting for a few years now and trying to keep things economical. This range finder is absolutely awesome. Very affordable, company is based in WI like myself and from what I've seen an unbeatable warranty that I hopefully never have to test. A 6.5 creedmore and an AR are in my not too distant future and both will be getting vortex optics.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great range finder for the archer I have had my impact 850 for about nine months have used it while shooting 3D archery as well as chasing white tails and turkeys and it is a great little range finder at a great price. The only complaint I would level is that I feel that I would benefit from a larger lanyard attachment point, it would just give me more options

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Range it. Bang! I've had my impact 850 for about 4 years now. Super reliable. Easy to use. Whether while bow hunting or rifle hunting it has been accurate at any distance and angle I've needed it. The long lasting battery life is a comfort. The settings are simple to change. I have been able to range targets and game as close as 22 yards and out to at least 500 yards in all kinds of weather and in clear weather out to almost 800. It works wonderfully in low light conditions as well. The feature I like most is the red LED readings. There's no mistaking a 5 or 6 for an 8 in darker cover or low light. The readings come up quickly when you need to re-range on moving targets. It is not too heavy and the belt clips is great on your hip or backpack strap. It also cleans up easy and has a durable non-reflective finish. Can't say I have anything bad to say about it with my range of shooting. Even if I had problems, Vortex is a company that stands behind their product 100% 24-7. Thanks Vortex.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product! I love this, bought it to go on my first bowhunt. It's accurate and reliable and good size, fits my hands well. I'm a Vortex lover, can't beat the warranty + the products. I also used this for some long(ish) range shooting. Was giving my precise reads from 100 yards all the way out to 400 yards. Super satisfied!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helpful Tool in a Hunter's Arsenal I have used this rangefinder for about two years, and with its help I have been more successful in hitting my targets. This past deer season (November 2018) I spotted a doe and the Impact clocked her out at 496 yards. I dialed in the scope and was able to bring home some venison because of this rangefinder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I’ve had this rangefinder for 3 month now and have ranged everything from archery targets to big horn sheep. It works as advertised and is simple to use. I don’t have a single complaint and for my use the range distance has been more the enough. Fits perfect in my mystery ranch bino harness as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for New England Hunters This featured-packed rangefinder is a great fit for the New England hunter. The optic is clear. Both in single and continuous ranging mode it is accurate beyond most shot distances NE hunters will encounter. I have it perform well in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for bowhunting I wanted something with a little less magnifications. 8x seemed too much for practicing out to 60 yards and hunting 40 and under. Ranges fast. Love that the numbers are red and easy to see at dusk and dawn. Perfect for my needs. Oh, and the glass is very clear too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not accurate I’ve had this for about a year now, ever since I first got the impact it never gave me solid readings, I’d be at the archery range and hit the 40 yard target and I’d get 39,41,40 at 40 every time it was different shooting in the back yard it does the same. 39,41,40 I’d call it 40. I have a black target but have trouble seeing the center so I pin a bullseye I print out. On the paper is 4 yards off than the black target it’s pinned to, I put my glen del next to the black target and am getting 3 different readings between the black target the glen del buck and the paper at the same distance. Shot high at 50 today got my arrow walked back ranged 50 and sent one to god knows where, I walked 4 yards forward and was still reading 49-51. My last few shots of the day at 40 I was reading 37-43 yards it’s all over the place. I’m leaving for a hunt in five days and lost all my confidence with this product. I just ordered a leupold and had it overnighted because there’s no way I’m getting it back from warranty in a week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never fails I bought this rangefinder last summer and use it religiously for archery elk hunting and predator hunting. Always works, never fails. The numbers are bright and clear and easy to use. Will choose more vortex products in the future. Top notch in my opinion!!!!#teamvortex

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic deal I love this range finder! I’ve taken it to the range several times and it seems to be very accurate and it’s very helpful at the bow range as a new hunter. Along with the VIP warranty this range finders price is extremely reasonable for its capability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality Rangefinder... I have used many different range finders and I was very surprised how well the Impact 850 works. It is a very clear optic and very accurate while out in the field. Recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable and reliable rangefinder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vortex Awesome Range Finder I bought a vortex range find last year and could be prouder of my decision. There are so many range finders to choose from. Yhe light gathering ability and the target acquisition is the best you can find. Will buy again and recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the price you can’t beat it. I like mine a lot but wish I payed more for the next one up from this. Didn’t feel like it Brought the object in clear like the binoculars do. The light strap thing on it broke before I could even use it.
