Rock Solid- Work of Art
As as a amateur photographer and serious long distance shooter, I must admit I have developed a bit of a tripod fetish over my many years. Like my fetish for backpacks, you learn just how much they can make or break you in the field. Tripods are a critical foundational element to support whatever you mount to them.
The Radian is rock solid, handling my 20 lb rifle with ease. My positional shooting always seems to need work and shooting from a tripod is no exception. The Radian, with the integral leveling head, makes it ridiculously easy. A handle projects under the head allowing for fast and precise adjustments without breaking your scope picture. Just twist to loosen, adjust, lock and fire!
The fit and finish of this tripod is no less impressive. When I pulled out of its case and set it up for the first time, “work of art” was the description that came to mind. It sets up super fast with robust 1/4 turn lockers. The leg pivots are easily adjusted to either flop open with a “flick”or hold fast so you can grab one leg while folded and move. Your choice. Speaking of the case, it is equally as impressive, using a full length zipper that ends in a semicircle at the top, one has the option of opening it fully or just opening the top to insert or remove the tripod. There is also a pocket inside for keeping the included spike feet and tools.
This is an investment that will last a lifetime. I take great comfort in knowing it is backed by the Vortex VIP warranty.

Top of the mountain Tripod
If you are looking for a master tripod that will do anything and everything that you need from holding your glass to supporting your firearm for a steady shot, look no further. I have used this Radian Tripod/leveling head for the last year now and we have put it through Western deer/elk/shed hunting adventures and it has out performed even my highest expectations. I honestly need a second one of these and will be purchasing soon. If you want an end all Tripod for life, get you a Radian.

Very sturdy, worth the price.
I started my tripod use with a re-purpised camera tripod. It had a bunch of flex in it when trying to get into a good position. It became so frustrating that I would rather use my ALICE frame.
The vortex tripod fixes those issues. Super solid, easy to adjust. There are two places where I can ding it. 1 is cost, but it is what it is. The second is the "self leveling head" its fine if you can perfectly set your tripod up at the right height. I think the other head will give you much more versatility, especially when trying to line up through a loop hole or veg-block.
