Effortlessly shrugging off recoil, moisture and darkness, the Viper's status as a premium riflescope won't be as easy to shake. Discover a riflescope with incredible performance features like premium, fully multi-coated optics, heavy duty Precision Force spring systems and the glass smooth Precision Glide Erector System—delivering all this and more at a price that should have pulled a few more hundreds from your wallet than it did.

Holds zero through all conditions’d like to write a review of the Vortex Viper 4-12x40 rifle scope I have mounted on my Browning x bolt in .300 win mag.
First off I’ve got to say I wasn’t entirely open to a different optic manufacturer, I’ve used the same name brand optic on several rifles for many years. In 2015 when I bought my x bolt I was in the market for a new scope. I went to the local out door store to do some shopping and after some price comparison and talking to some friends, coworkers and other hunters I purchased a vortex viper in 4-12x40. I have been impressed by the quality of this optic and the ability to hold zero on my rifle every time I use it. Just recently I took my .300 out of the safe and out to the range for some target practice, this rifle hadn’t been fired since I zeroed it in September, carried it through a very cold hunting season (-25c ) it bounced around in my truck as moved from location to location. When I fired the rifle last week the zero was exactly where I left it in September, even after 20 rounds the heavy recoil of the .300 didn’t affect it. As for the quality of the glass and the turrets again I’m very impressed, you just can’t beat the value that you get from Vortex. The next optic I purchase from my new SR25 will definitely be a Vortex product.

Great simple scopeBought this scope to hunt whitetails on the east coast and elk in Montana. I have been super pleased with it over the last 7 years. I have harvested deer at 70 yds and elk as far out as 360 yds. You just can't beat a Vortex for quality and customer satisfaction.
