Rated 5 out of 5 by from Viper HST for Long Range I recently purchased an inexpensive precision rifle(Howa 1500 308) and needed a great optic to mount on it so I chose the Viper HST for the reticle and the optical quality. Because the reticle runs the full length of the scope it allows me to easily make hold over adjustments when shooting using Kentucky windage. I also do not use a 20MOA base so this allows me to go beyond my maximum elevation adjustments for long range shooting. The scope is worth as much as the rifle but it is worth it if shooting for accuracy or distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best midrange price scope around. This scope is unbelieveable. It is the second scope I've gotten from vortex, the first was the viper pa and this one is leaps and bounds better. Turrets track perfectly, audible and tactile clicks and always gets back to zero. My original intent for this score for for target shooting only because I thought it would be larger than it was, but I intend on hunting with it this fall with my 7mm rem mag. I really like the zoom numbers on it, very clever on making it with 16x 8x 5.3x and 4x for simple math on the moa reticle. Makes ranging targets very simple. Havent tried using it for holdover yet since I can dial inmy dope. Will probably buy another!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in class Everything about this scope is amazing. The price is perfect and will fit a large group of shooters. The Glass is crystal clear , edge to edge. The HS-T offers features normally found in much higher priced optics. The Elevation and Windage turrets are robust and are very repeatable. The Zero Stop works flawlessly and is simple to set. With Utahs new Muzzle loader optic law, this scope found it's way to my CVA Accura LR. It is shooting steel with sub MOA groups at 500 yards. This scope takes the recoil and always delivers. Great quality, great value and the VIP peace of mind warranty makes my decision easy. Key reasons that I bought this scope for this rifle include, Price, Warranty, Features,Size and Reputation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent scope, great value A buddy and I both bought the Viper HS-T 4-16x44 MRAD last winter for our long range rigs and have nothing but good things to say about this scope. We’ve been able to hit a 10” gong out to 1000m without much trouble and have found glass clarity and turret tracking to be excellent. Great scope for the money and I have recommended it to a few friends

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great scope! Probably my favorite scope out of the Bortex family that I own. The glass and clarity are in a class of their own. The scope is durable and can take abuse and still stay zeroed, it took a trip with me down a 100 foot avalanche chute and it wasn't a gentle fall either. I would suggest to stick to either MOA or Mrad and not intermix. I learned my lesson the hard way but that's user/buyer error. Other than that it's another great purchase from aborted that I'm pleased with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Scope I Own!! Decided to get into the budget long range game and went with this scope as I will still use it for hunting purposes. It sits on top of my Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor. Glass is clear, turret clicks are precise, changing magnification is smooth as butter. Reticle is to follow and use on targets and I assuming will be on game be it stationary or moving. Haven't taken it past 100 yards, but cant wait to see what it looks like at long distances. For the price and the warranty that comes with it, you can't beat Vortex!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long process, great results I was looking a buying a new scope for my 300 RUM for about a year to replace my current Nikon. The 3 types I looked at were the Nikon Monarch, Leupold Mark 4, and the Vortex HS-T. In the new scope I wanted a 30mm tube, dial-able turrets, and bullet drop or moa/mil reticle. I already own Vortex binos and a vortex spotter and am pleased with the quality. Bottom line up front is the Leupold was to expensive and the Nikon wasn't as good as the Vortex. I have put the Vortex through the paces and here is what I like: Low light visibility is great, the reticle tracks and the adjustments are dead on. The clicks match the measurements in the turret and the ability to add shims to make a zero stop are great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Viper Strikes I mounted the Viper on to my Remington 700sps build in .223 - Glass is clear and retains focus on longer ranges. I like the quick focus eye piece, i'm left handed and it's user friendly in that respect not like the side focus knobs. The high mount turrets are easy to read however, on my elevation the hash marks go off center between 4 minute to 8 minute hash lines and re-centers after passing - i would send it out but really minor flaw to me since I can feel and hear the clicks. Other than that i've taken her out to 564 yds so far, and optics are crystal clear and tracks well.
