My first tripod
This is my first hunting tripod so I don't have anything to compare it against. That being said, I opted for aluminum over carbon fiber knowing the weight may be more in aluminum. I'm not afraid of it getting scratched up or anything, which is good because my first hunt of the year left some scars on the legs. It is stable and packs easily on the side of my bag when I'm hiking. I can't say the weight was a problem for me because I don't count ounces anyway. It sets up and adjusts quickly, holds my binos steady, and just does everything I want it to do. I'm really happy with the tripod and I don't see any reason for me to spend more on carbon fiber over this option.

I love it...
We got one for Christmas and love it. We shoot PRS matches and its a must have. It's a great entry level tripod. Were saving up to purchase the Ridgeview or Radian as well. Definitely worth the money, would recommend to others.

High country tripod
This is an epic tripod for spotting scopes and also for shooting off of. It is heavier than some of the other tripods in its price class but the customer service is paramount. Every time I have reached out to Vortex I have felt like I was heard and my questions/ concerns were addressed and there was a solution in the works.
Yes I would recommend this and the rest of the Vortex line up to my friends and family. They are great to work with. You don’t need to take my word for it though try it for your self and see!
