Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great versatile binos! The Diamondback series is a budget-friendly series from Vortex which will often have a negative connotation when compared to more expensive competitors (anything at a great price usually does). That assumption is wrong! These binos are a great, versatile pair that work great for hunting in the back country. The 12x magnification allows you to glass hillsides far away but don't excessively bounce from a bino harness or strap around the shoulders. From a tripod, they have the power and the wide objective lens to scan large areas but still be able to count and size the tines on that trophy buck. I was pleasantly surprised by their quality, clarity, and brightness from an economical line of Vortex optics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and even better customer service. I started researching binoculars about 2 months ago because I was in the market for a quality pair. I settled on the Diamondback 10x42s but ended up buying the 12x50s because I got such a good deal. This is the best quality binoculars I have ever laid my hands on. Then because I am the way I am and got such a good deal I thought they may be counterfeit. I emailed Vortex with pictures and details of the purchase and they emailed me back at midnight on the weekend assuring me they were authentic. Please if you are in the market for a great product and even better customer service, give Vortex a try and you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great optics and bang for the buck. I did quite a bit of research before buying these and discovered that these were the perfect binoculars for medium to long range glassing. They combine the superior light-gathering capabilities of a 50mm lens with 12X magnification. I just finished birding with them for 8 hours in the overcast/rainy conditions of the Pacific NW and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. One nice touch is the extending eyepiece cups that click into place. I can get my eyes far enough away from the lens to keep them from external fogging in cold & wet conditions. Well done Vortex!
