When your hunt means ranging big game at 1,000 yards and beyond, your laser rangefinder needs the horsepower to go long and the toughness to stand up to the field. The Diamondback® HD 2000 laser rangefinder gives hunters 2,000 yards max range, and 1,400 yards on game. 7x magnification helps you see farther, and an HD optical system means you can pick apart the landscape and stay pinpointed on your quarry. The red OLED display stays clear in low light, and to match any hunting environment, the Diamondback® HD 2000 has two target modes (Normal and Last), two ranging modes (HCD and LOS), and is tripod adaptable.
The Diamondback HD 2000 uses HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) angle-compensated ranging technology to give bow and rifle shooters the critical distance data needed to make accurate shots.

Best bang for your buck rangefinder.Impressed with the performance of this rangefinder so far. Definitely like the ease of use and the fast battery swap. Interesting Vortex used better coatings on this diamondback rangefinder than the other optics in the Diamondback line. If you’re going to do it to one might as well do it across the whole line up. Bottom line is you will not regret adding this to your gear. Definitely an all around good rangefinder in this price point.

Disappointed in weatherI've had this rangefinder for 2-3 seasons, and I prefer the cheaper Nikon I used to have. This rangefinder is completely unresponsive in weather under 0- degrees, even with fresh batteries - useless for Montana elk. I also attempted to use it in eastern MT for Antelope and could not range a buck or even the grass/rocks at 300 yards. My buddy had the exact same model and struggled as well at these distances.

CANT range in fog!I live on Ohio river and often get fog in the morning. I could NOT range at 30 yards in light fog! My old one had no problem and is more responsive, even in clear conditions. Although, the glass is very clean clear, especially for a range finder.
